Adopting Twins; A Forever Family that keeps brothers and sisters together
Being adopted, I always dreamed of what my siblings looked like. When adopting the first thing I said was that I wanted to adopt twins or siblings. Adopted twins are rarely separated today, and even in cross-cultural or closed adoption (ours is open) they have the comfort of knowing at least one biological relative! I wanted that for my children. After two years of considering the idea (daydreaming about it) we finally processed the paperwork. Within six months we were parenting a set of twins and their big sister. Huge changes but no major challenges. We spent those years preparing our hearts and minds to expand our family exponentially. Would I do it again. In a heart beat, in fact I am praying (as all four of my girls are) for their little brother. Could they be twins to? It would be a blessing either way. My girls are still young and we still need support, literally and virtually...
