Google Adsense
using internet advertising effectively
Written by Sue a wife, mom, and writer who loves to blog and has a successful online business. You'll hear lots of stuff about creating "junk blogs" and "junk sites" and monetizing with AdSense--the idea is to create a crap site and then give someone the option of getting out of your terrible site by clicking on an AdSense link. I personally think that this is irresponsible and creates to more of the idea that all that's out on the 'net is flotsam and jetsam.So that being said, how do you create/direct traffic to your (good) site? The #1 thing you can do is update regularly. At least 2-4 times per week. The more you update and the better your material is (original material, not copied stuff), the more you will "rank" on the search engines. Original and quality writing updated regularly is the best way to create a readership and traffic. This will not get you a fast buck. It's a slow process--and you won't see anything until you hit $100 in your account (i.e., Google won't cut a check until you hit that amount), but it is doable. One warning: DO NOT click on your own ads. Not from your computer or another computer on your home network. And if you ask others to click on your ads, that's also "illegal" and can cause Google to terminate your account and all your earnings. Their algorithm is highly protected (no one knows what it is, how it changes, or how to beat it--don't believe anyonewho says otherwise), and their systems watch everything for a pattern. If they suspect that you are using fraudulent clicks to earn money, they WILL find out. And you WILL lose your earnings. A fabulous book on the subject (and how to make money with AdSense) is by Joel Conn and is called "Cracking the AdSense Code." The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense It's a really good book and full of good material.
